Bonjour Dah-lings!
We know the feeling all too well: you’re tired of your hair and you’re craving something new, but you’re not ready to sacrifice the length of your locks. A haircut can seem so, well, permanent. But reinventing your look doesn’t always require scissors! When your style needs a switch up but you’re not interested in committing long-term, I recommend a few simple tricks that are sure to satisfy your thirst for something new, no scissors necessary. It’s out with the old and in with the new, at least for the night… Leave the monogamy for your relationship, because these style switch-ups were made for the commitment-phobic, darling!
Change Up Your Part
It might feel strange at first, but changing the way you part your hair is one of the easiest ways to achieve that “Something looks different, but I can’t put my finger on it” look. If you normally rock a relaxed side part, try parting your hair down the middle for a sleeker look. If you’re having trouble making your hair take to a new direction, run some Blow Dry Lotion through your hair before blow drying for weightless control. It’s an instantly gratifying transformation!
Play With Texture
If you’re naturally blessed with a textured mane, try using a curl-defining product such as our Texture Styling Crème instead of a curling iron to enhance your natural hair. If your strands are sleek and straight, scrunch your hair with Styling Foam to create tousled waves with plenty of volume and velvety texture.
Try the Wet Look
For a bolder look, experiment with the “wet” trend. We recommend using our Firm Hold Gel to keep hair flexible and flake-free. Massage the gel through the front of your hair to achieve the wet texture. Edge your look up further with a deep side part or tuck one side behind your ear, securing with bobby pins. This will highlight your face and give you an opportunity to show off those earrings you just bought!
Fake A Bob
The faux bob is a red carpet go-to among Hollywood’s elite. This trick works best with layers and plenty of texture, so curl hair before beginning. Pull your hair into a low ponytail, leaving your top layers free. Roll the ponytail onto itself, tucking under the loose layers, and secure with bobby pins. Finish with Mighty Hair Spray to make sure your style stays put. This illusion gives you all the drama of a drastic cut, without losing any inches!
When it’s time for a change and scissors aren’t an option, these simple tricks are all you need to mix things up – no commitment necessary!
