Bonjour Dah-lings!

When it comes to hair, there’s no such thing as a stupid question. Caring for your strands can be confusing! From proper color care to the material of your sheets (yes, seriously!), navigating the world of hair care is no easy task. So to help you untangle any uncertainty, we’re answering a few of your most common questions. Class is in session!

How do I tame flyaways?

Flyaways are unquestionably annoying, but they are possible to tame! The long-term solution is to swap out your brush in favor of a wide-tooth comb and wait until hair is slightly dry to detangle. This will keep hair breakage to a minimum, preventing future flyaways. Our wet brush is also a great way to keep breakage to a minimum. It’s a gentle way to detangle hair when its both wet and dry. Remember to always start from the bottom and gently brush up.

And while that’s all well and good, sometimes you need an immediate flyaway fix – we have an answer for that too! Use a small amount of Styling Foam on the back of a comb, raking it along your part and face-framing layers. Voila!

Do silk pillowcases really make a difference?

Yes! Satin or silk are recommended over cotton. Cotton pillowcases absorb moisture from your skin and scalp, adding to frizz and dullness. Satin and silk pillowcases don’t cause friction or breakage, keeping hair smooth, shiny, and easier to manage. It’s a worthy investment!

How do I keep my hair color from fading?

Prepping your hair prior to your appointment is essential. Before coloring, wash with a clarifying shampoo to remove oil, dirt, and product buildup, which can prevent dye from penetrating the hair. Post-coloring, avoid showering with water that is excessively hot, over-washing hair, or using shampoos with sulfates. The best way to keep color vibrant is to use gentle products that protect and prevent fading. The sulfate-free and color protecting and color enhancing formula in our Hydrating Shampoo and Condition keeps hair healthy and color shining bright, long after you’ve left the salon.

How do I add volume to my limp hair?

Volumizing Shampoo and Condition are your new best friends! Volume starts in the shower, and these products will boost volume and lift without weighing hair down. After showering, apply a small amount (no more than 3 pumps) of Styling Foam always dry hair from the roots first. This will redirect the root for added volume. Pumping up the volume doesn’t have to be difficult, you just have to know the right tricks!

How often should I deep condition?

Unless your locks are seriously dried out, you should only use a deep conditioning treatment once a week. The right deep conditioner can bring your hair back to life, healing, strengthening, and even preventing future breakage. Reconstructing Masque packs a powerful punch, infusing moisture and protein into strands, without sacrificing featherweight results! Want to learn more about the benefits of deep conditioning? We can help!
