Let’s be honest, most of us don’t think about wearing a hat until we really need it. And for a good reason! Hats can be a tricky accessory. They can completely ruin your styled ‘do. However – news flash! – they can also hide messy hair, cut down on styling time and keep you looking much cuter than you may feel. Hats are a lifesaver when you’re short on time to get ready – let people think you’re just not so rushed!
We’ve created this quick guide about how to best wear three of our favorite hats. Because knowledge is power, and every modern woman should know how to rock a hat. Your welcome.
The Baseball Cap
Move over boys, the girls are taking over the ball cap trend and we’re not striking out. Baseball caps are loved by everyone forobvious reasons: they’re the easiest and quickest way to look put together. Minimal effort pays off in this case especially on Monday mornings.
We love pairing our caps with a voluminous, textured ponytail. For those days when you just don’t feel like letting your locks down, tie them up and throw on a cap. Add a spritz of our Sugar Texturizing Spray first for some volume. And don’t be afraid to play around with your pony – let some pieces fall loose and tease away! Maybe even mix in some tiny braids for extra flair.
The Floppy Hat
Ahh… the classic floppy hat takes us back to sunshine and springtime. Kentucky Derby, anyone? Floppy hats are a classy and practical look and perfect for warm weather. (Protect that skin, dah-ling!) With so many styles to choose from, you really can’t go wrong.
Want to protect your face but still feel chic? Get yourself a trendy wide brim. Our favorite hairstyle with this type of hat is thick, loose curls. If you’re going to rock a big hat, your hair volume has to match! Try our Volumizing Shampoo and Volumizing Conditioner to get that full body look. This is the best style to get away with messy hair too, so dig those fingers in and shake it up! The bigger, the better.
To all of our short hair gals, don’t worry, we didn’t forget about you! The best thing to pair with your sassy bob is a beanie. Blunt bobs are totally in and they look fabulous with a scrunched beanie. Make sure you’re positioning the beanie farther back on your head to show off your do. Keeping some pieces out in the front to make sure you’re not covering that gorgeous face.
As the day goes on, beanies may leave your hair full of static, so smooth it down with our Fluoro5 Elixer Restore and Repair Oil. Simply use a drop between your palms and softly rub it in. You’ll keep your hair down and the shine turned up!
Now dah-lings, let’s all agree that saving your hats for bad hair days is a thing of the past. Hats are making a comeback, and we’re here for it! You can find some extra hat inspiration here.
