Bonjour Dah-lings!
Nothing ruins a good hair day quite like frizz. Despite the fact that some of us may be more prone to it, we’re all susceptible to the pouf, fuzz, and frayed ends that can drive even the calmest of darlings mad. No matter how fine or straight your hair, no one is immune to frizz – isn’t it time you were given the tools necessary to fight the frizz battle and win? We think so, which is exactly why we’ve put together a few tips to keep frizz at bay and silky smoothness front and center!

Before we start, here’s a quick lesson in what causes frizz: dry, porous hair sucks up moisture from the air, causing the hair shaft to swell and kink. So, if you want to prevent your hair from soaking up the outdoor elements, you’ll need to keep your strands hydrated.
Start In The Shower
Frizz is your hair’s way of saying “I need moisture!” If you give your locks the moisture it craves before exiting the shower, it will be less likely to frizz up later. Unless you have extremely fine hair, get acquainted with a deep conditioner, such as Hydrating Condition, and don’t be afraid to use it each time you shampoo. To really seal in moisture, use a weekly restorative treatment infused with natural oils or shea butter. Our Reconstructing Masque has both; shea butter, jojoba seed oil, and sunflower seed oil to seriously nourish strands.
Avoid Harsh Products
The harsher the hair product, the more likely you are to suffer from frizz. These products make hair coarser by upsetting the lay of the cuticle, leaving hair brittle and stiff. Instead, look for products free from sulfates and harsh chemicals. All Number 4 products are sulfate and sodium chloride free, gluten free, and paraben free – just the way Mother Nature intended!
Be Gentle When Drying
The key to fighting frizz is to not disrupt your hair’s cuticle. Instead of roughly drying your hair with a towel, squeeze the towel around your strands and blot to soak up excess moisture. If you plan on blow-drying hair, apply a smoothing product beforehand to coat your hair’s cuticle and keep strands sleek. With the ability to tackle complex textures of frizzy, unruly locks, Smoothing Balm will be your new best friend!
Don’t Overuse Hot Tools
Heat is healthy hair’s worst enemy, so try to avoid using flat irons and curling wands when possible. When you do use heat, be sure to prep hair with a protective spray. We cannot stress enough how important it is to create a layer of protection between your hair and the heat from your tools. That’s why we created Thermal Styling Spay, a heat protectant that will leave your hair so silky smooth, you’ll wonder how you ever lived without it.
Say Goodbye To Split Ends
Split ends can be bad news for sleek strands. The end can split all the way up the strand, resulting in a frizzy mess. The easiest way to keep split ends at bay is to trim hair often. In between haircuts, use oil on your tips to keep them moisturized. You can never go wrong with Fluoro5 Elixer Restore & Repair Oil.
