Bonjour Dah-lings!
When it comes to award shows, it’s hard to outdo the MTV Video Music Awards. Who can forget Lil Kim’s 1999 purple wig or Lady Gaga’s infamous meat dress? Sure, we know this night is all about the music, but a true beauty aficionado knows the real drama starts the moment Hollywood’s favorite starlets step their stiletto’ed feet out of the limo and onto the pre-show red carpet.

Vanessa Hudgens
The actress’s look was quite literally red hot, from head to toe. Hairstylist Chad Wood created this fresh-from-the-shower look, letting the texture of Vanessa’s gown serve as inspiration for the sleek and chic style. When dealing with a wet texture such as this, frizz is the enemy. To combat this, apply a frizz control product that has some hold. Our Texture Styling Crème is exactly what you need to tame frizz and flyaways without stiffness.

Miley Cyrus
Miley was serving up serious rockabilly style that had us reminiscing of the King himself, Mr. Elvis Presley. Celeb stylist Andy LeCompte created this pompadour/pin-roll hybrid that somehow seemed to transform depending upon what angle you were looking from. LeCompte slicked the singer’s hair back into a pompadour complete with matching bow, finishing the updo in a retro high pony that only Miley could pull off.

Lorde
Donning dark no more! The singer went feminine and flirty on this year’s red carpet, wearing her hair in a casual half updo with minimal makeup and letting her gorgeous gown do the talking. Keeping with the theme of her dress, she kept the texture slightly tousled and pulled her hair up just high enough to add a little extra volume. Simultaneously simple, playful, and glamorous, this one’s a definite must-copy!

Katy Perry
Katy Perry has never been one to shy away from a statement-making, look-at-me hairstyle and this year’s VMA look was no exception. She kicked her platinum pixie up a notch, adding piece-y ruffled texture and let her earrings take center stage.

Sibley Scoles
The E! News correspondent dazzled, bringing the timeless finger wave to life with this structured style. And if that’s not enough, she’s mixing it with one of our favorite color trends of the year – platinum. We’d definitely give Sibley our Moon Man vote!
To create looks like Katie and Sibley’s, you need a product that’s strong enough to hold hair in place but won’t leave hair looking gunky. Texture Paste gives you the power to twist, piece, and position hair exactly how you want it – and make it stay that way.
