SAG Awards 2017: Hair Edition

SAG Awards 2017: Hair Edition 527 595 Number 4 High Performance Hair Care

Bonjour Dah-lings!

Awards season is underway and if the SAG Awards are any indication of the beauty looks to come in 2017, we have much to look forward to! Hollywood’s leading ladies let their hair do the talking, combining chic styles with bold touches, giving red carpet onlookers plenty to gawk at. Daring and fabulous, we collected a few of our favorite standout styles from the night.

Never one to shy away from a statement making hairstyle, the SAG Awards was no exception for Miss Monae. The actress took to the red carpet in accessorized double buns that let texture do the talking. And while this look is definitely daring, Janelle pulls it off exceptionally, serving up a look reminiscent of a modern fairy princess. While this look might be a bit bold for everyday wear, that texture is not! To breathe life into your tresses (without any of the frizz) à la Janelle, we recommend using our Texture Styling Crème prior to styling for added dimension and movement. The best part? It can be used on both wet and dry hair!

The secret to Kirsten Dunst’s effortless Parisian waves? Embrace natural texture! After showering, run Styling Foam from hair roots to ends. Rather than using a round brush, rough dry hair with a blow dryer using your hands – this will enhance your natural texture and give hair body. Separate hair into sections and style with a 1 or 1.5-inch curling iron. Once curled, spritz hair with a lightweight hair spray, such as Mighty Hair Spray. You’ll be red carpet ready in no time!

If there’s one thing we learned from Sophia Bush’s award show hair, it’s that simple can be completely chic! The actress went minimalistic with her mane, letting her head-turning pink gown and matching makeup take center stage. She opted for a tousled, low ponytail parted down the middle, leaving just enough layers loose to frame her face and emphasize her bare shoulders. An undone black ribbon tied the look together. How can you not be tickled pink by the finished product? To achieve this look sans frizz and full of shine, try adding a dime-size amount of Fluoro5 Elixer Restore & Repair Oil through strands before and after styling.

There’s nothing we love more than a swept-back style and Kate Hudson wears it outstandingly well. The actress opted for straight, ultra-sleek strands and maintained plenty of volume along her hairline, giving the style a slightly undone feel. Perhaps what’s most impressive about this look is that even slightly undone, there isn’t one strand out of place or flyaway in sight! For a flyaway-free look like Kate’s, the secret is simple – Smoothing Balm! With the ability to tackle any texture, frizzy flyaways don’t stand a chance.

To create this look, we recommend using a 1-inch curling iron. And the secret to achieving Emma’s time-defying shine? Run a dab of Fluoro5 on damp hair after showering and reapply once more on dry hair before styling.
