Bonjour Dah-lings!
Let’s face it; we all want to know how to get more volume in our hair. And we’ll go to great lengths in our attempt it. From clipping up our hair and taking it out only before arriving at a big event, to flipping our heads over and spraying an entire can of hairspray on our strands, the struggle for volume is one we ladies know all too well. We jump through hoops for volume that doesn’t last – but that’s about to be a thing of the past!

It All Starts at the Root
Volume starts at the root. And it really matters what you wash your hair with. Harsh shampoos can strip hair, making it even more flat. You want products that gently cleanse and provide weightless volume, such as Volumizing Shampoo and Condition, which give hair body, movement, and shine.
Blow Dry Upside Down
After towel drying hair, flip wet hair upside down to blow dry. This will redirect the root for added volume. After hair is about 60% dry, flip your head upright and continue to blow-dry while holding up the roots. Bonus points for using a root-boosting product; we’d recommend Styling Foam, which creates voluminous hair full of velvety texture. And remember – start applying at the roots before working through to ends.
Sleep on It the Right Way
If you wash your hair at night, pull hair into a topknot with a loose hair band or scrunchie before hitting the sheets. Leave half an inch or so of the ends out for a more relaxed look without the kinks. When you leave your hair down, it can easily become flattened from laying on it all night, but by pulling it up, your hair will dry lifted off the scalp leaving you with a boost of volume – no heat or teasing required!
Brush Backwards
No, we aren’t talking about aggressively teasing with a fine-tooth comb until hair is one big tangled mess. You can create soft volume by back brushing the roots using a brush, like the L’eau de Mar Brush, rather than a comb. Start by pinning up the top layer of the hair and then brush in a downward motion at the roots. For lasting volume, spray each back brushed section with Mighty Hair Spray. After you’ve completed all sections, let down the top layer of your hair to smooth out your look.
